The COP31 Bike Ride

The COP31 Bike Ride

In 2026, the COP31 Bike Ride is uniting passionate adventurers from across the globe as they journey by bicycle and sailboat from the Amazonian city of Belém, Brazil, the host of COP30 to Antalya, Turkiye, the host of COP31, that will start on November 9th. Their goal ? Underline the benefits of everyday cycling to reduce carbon emissions, a goal they pursue by bringing to the COP ten proposals of cycling policies to be included in the countries' climate plans.

The ride started end of April and it will be in June/July/August in Portugal/Spain/France, late August in Italy, September in the Balkans, October in Turkey.

A citizen's project

Along the way, cyclists:

  • engage with local cycling communities
  • demand 3 commitments from the officials of the towns/regions/nations they cross (on cycling policies, at the 2035 horizon, which is the end date of the next round of COP climate plans)

Together, these interactions create a global mosaic of citizen’s action, linking local concerns to international climate goals.

COP31 Bike Ride participant info
The COP31bikeride is a citizens initiative, forming a collective relay to bring by bicycle - and sailing boat - the message of cycling to COP31. On the way, the ride is self organized and self catered. To coordinate the participating cyclists and make sure the relay is complete (!), we gather information of interested cyclists through this form. It is a collective effort to get the message to Antalya! The currently planned routes can be found in this file: COP31 Bike Ride routes ONLINE
